Pablo Antonio Milan, New Mexican contemporary artist, died suddenly in May 2017 after a 37-year career. known for his use of bold colors and his distinctive style, Milan was an expressionistic colorist, employing innovative techniques of layering washes of fast drying acrylics, powerful brush strokes, splatters and palette knife to reveal a mystical illusion of the Southwest. Primarily a self-taught artist, he was accepted into his first gallery at the age of 17 and was shown in galleries from Florida to California, including San Antonio and his own galleries in Santa Fe and Scotsdale.
